Update 8/8/19 Committee is working on getting a formal agreement in place with the Village before going public with the fundraising efforts. This may push the final install date back. Mike C made a motion to move forward with the Rotary Clock Purchase. Laurel E seconded the motion. The motion was approved. Cost will run about $40,000. We have already saved $20,000. Need to cover concrete slab and installation with a lift truck. Location will be by the Fountain in front of Toot Toots. We will solicit donations by offering embossing on 2 panels of the clock with a smaller font that will have names on them. 40 names at $250 on 2 panels=$10,000. On other 2 panels 10 businesses on 2 panels at $1000=$10,000. Also can change schemes if needed as we get closer. For example, 80 names on 4 panels instead of businesses. We will send out publicity on 10/1/19 and them solicit donors. Working on Insurance and upkeep responsibilities of the clock. Rotary International will not donate to this project. |
