Thanks to Tim and Jeri Ridenour for hosting the wrapping party! It was a great night for fellowship and service. Also thanks to our Santa’s helpers Ralph, Bob Mueller and Ray who delivered gifts to the townships and thanks to everyone who took a family and made some happy Christmas memories. Also a special shout out to the Elf in Charge, Valerie for coordinating the lists and checking them more than twice!
Hustle up the Hancock is scheduled for Sunday, February 24, 2018. Registration opened on 11/1/18. As of 11/15/18 64 people have signed up. $155 registration and donation to American Lung Force to be paid when you register. $100 then needs to be given to the Bartlett Rotary Club.
If you plan on participating in the Hustle, if you can, please try and get signed up as soon as you can. It is unpredictable when the event will fill up and registration will close. In the past, it has sold out some years in a matter of hours……..other years it takes about a week. I don’t want to miss out on getting you signed up. Remember when you sign up, go to:
Hustle Chicago
Then “register”
Then “join a team” and search and click on Bartlett Fire. Please remember to just pay the fee of $155, do not do your Rotary donation through the registration site. The Rotary donation is 100% separate from the event.
The Rotary Gift Exchange Party was as usual, a noteworthy event! Thank you to Helen Tollerud, for performing the upbeat Christmas Music and also thanks to Daryl and Elmer (Dave Strutzel and George) for helping out with the Sleigh Ride song!
We have roughly $18,000 in the special project fund. No set amount of money has been defined. Proposals can be submitted for up to $18,000 or the club can decide on a bigger project to continue to raise money towards. Hustle Up the Hancock is fleeting. There may be a chance that it will no longer be a viable fundraiser for the club. Club members need to decide on a new fundraiser and get serious about implementing a new event. Chief Falese will have forms for project submissions at the next Rotary meeting. The committee recommendation includes the following: Project should have high visibility so that we can used it to help grow our membership, Project should have a local impact. A small group should be formed to research different fundraising events that we can implement in the near future.
If you have any questions please see any of the committee members:
A big thank you to James Barr for creating the Bartlett Rotary Foundation By-Laws. These will be presented to the club during the next few weeks. If you have any questions, please see James.
