In May the club had a service opportunity at the Hanover Township Food Pantry and our members assisted with the food distribution. Thanks to all who volunteered!
We had a fun time bowling and socializing at Midway Landings/O'Hare's Pub for Random Rotary.
Our guest speaker on May 27 was Juanita Martinez of the Wayne Township Food Pantry. She shared with us that the food pantry is open to anyone in need during he pandemic. So many are in need, families, veterans and seniors for example. The pantry also purchased a pick up truck and van though grants available and this will assist them in picking up donations.
We had $581 left to be allocated for 2020-21 DDF. These funds had to be pledged before the end of May or they disappear. The Board decided to partner with another Rotary Club to support the Bwindi Hospital in southwestern Uganda. The hospital serves a population of 3,000. The Kihihi Rotary Club in Uganda is the host club spearheading the project.
Installation Dinner
Our annual officer installation dinner will be on June 24 at Moretti's at 5:30 p.m.
Membership Changes
Long-time Rotarians Bob Krupp and Marcus Jaeger have changed their status with the club. Bob had withdrawn and Marcus has switched to honorary status. We thank them for their many, many years of service to the club and to our community. Let's hope they will still drop in for lunch once in a while!
