Buckle your Seat Belts!
 9 Days ‘til Rendezvous 2020 Fundraiser!
 
We’re rounding the corner in getting things in order. Item by item, we’re grouping ‘em for buy’n. Out on the streets selling tickets to whom we meet. Tasting the food so to approve; then testing the gear to be sure we can hear. The timetable is set to be in step, and workers are gathered to work ‘til after. The music’s in place to please our taste; the master of the auction will be a-jaw‘n, and a big thank you to all, and to all - an enjoyable time.

This week’s Guest Speaker:
        Jim McGrath
The presentation is titled "Restore Our Democracy" and focuses on money in politics. It's completely bipartisan in that both parties are complicit. The presentation uses studies from Princeton.

Announcements:
 
PRESIDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS:  President  Steve Hollis reminded all members to sit according to Rendezvous team tables after the Reflection. He encouraged all Rotarians to invite people to the up coming function. In his speech, he stressed the importance of volunteering.
 
The President announced that our Club was recognized by the Barrington School District 220 for the Stop the Bleed project. Rotarian Trudy Wehren  received a special award for her role, and Rotarian Craig Winkelman played an important role as a staff leader in the school district and BBRC member to make the function a success.
 
The Club president also announced the work days for The Barrington Area Conservation Trust: February 23, Noon to 2pm, Far Field Preserve and March 15, Noon to 2pm.  Highway clean up is planned for April 22, and Earth Day planting is scheduled at Pederson Preserve.
Rotarian Jennifer Lucas explained and gave more details on the above subjects. 
 
Finally, President Steve introduced Rotarian Rob Gier who doubled as the Guest Speaker and fundraising committee's volunteer coordinator.
 
CLUB ANNOUNCEMENTS: Rotarian Rob called for volunteers during the up coming event and passed papers round for members to indicate when they are free to volunteer before, during and after the event.
The co-chair also presented the break down of the funds raised so far according to groups and tickets sold by individuals.
 
Rotarian Lew Parks announced the breakdown of funds raised in his sub-committee in respect to the fundraising.
 
Rotarian Rob Gier who co-chaired as the fundraising coordinator and guest speaker strongly emphasized the need for all Rotarians to participate in the Rendezvous.  He urged members to submit what ever they have got; Thursday the 13th is the deadline to submit all gift items.
