SpeakerCongressman Peter Roskam Republican candid for the 6th congressional district

Peter Roskam recommended we read this autobiography "Walking with the Wind" by Congressman John Lewis.

We have an under reported crisis regarding opioid use.

Peter Roskam works with area hospitals and police departments on this issue.

The opioid molecule in our body has such a power. 100 lbs of Fentanyl means millions of doses.

Fentanyl is being mailed into the United States from China thru US Postal Service.

Fentanyl to the touch is a dangerous, synthetic drug causing overdoses.

Congress is working to try and make changes on how this drug is coming into the U.S..

In 2016, one third of senior citizens were prescribed an opioid simply because Medicare covers this medication in reimbursement.

Changes in congress on a bipartison basis needs to take place. Peter Roskam mentioned he is working on changing this process. In 10 years time, we will have a better understanding of the opioid.

Per Peter Roskam, people don't want to go back to the ACA (Affordable Care Act),

We have had the same discussion on the health care.

Lets go to health care providers and see what is accumulative, and redundant in the system we have now.

Peter Roskam met with the leadership group from Advocate Health Care Systems in Downers Grove.

They had a Medicare inspector that advised Advocate leadership the problem was the “HVAC system issue,”(heating and air conditioning system).

Despite Advocates claims of having a “state of the art HVAC system,” the Medicare inspectors findings indicated the HVAC system was not up to code.

1.5 millions dollars is what it cost to fix the HVAC issues, not in compliance with Medicare Inspection.

The one thing that has not been changed, according to Peter Roskam, is the our Medicare coding issues. Medicare’s coding needs to be updated!

Catastrophic health coverge is under ACA with a $6000.00 deductible. Most people can’t affrod this deductable. Why dont we do a health savings account?

The Medicare coding is not updated and needs to be revised, per Peter Roskam.

Big personalities Donald Trump and Obama...

They have come in and are restrained by our strength of institutions.

A strong parliment is a strong democracy.

What does not get visbilties in these small institutions is the strength of these institutions.
