Why did you join Rotary?

I joined Barrington Breakfast Rotary Club because I was inspired by the dedication of the members to service projects, and I felt an instant connection with them.   These people were ready to get to work!   I also wanted to become a member because the group is so welcoming to all types of people.   This came at a time in my life when I could start to devote more time to community service and when I was looking to meet new people.  BBRC was a perfect fit.

What experiences / projects / events have you most enjoyed and/or gained the most from your participation?

Some of the most simple activities are my favorites.  I loved my first highway clean up as I followed Steve Hollis and Maria Peterson into the brambles to pick up trash.  I loved when the club got a last minute call to help unload supplies for Giving Day and a few of us showed up to carry bags.   When I arrive for a project, I am not judged by my clothes or my car but whether I show up to help. I learn from working with my fellow members.   I also love the outside speakers who often leave me inspired at the wonderful work that people do locally and around the world.

What three things do you enjoy doing in your "free" time?

In my free time, I like to swim, walk my dog, and watch my kids play hockey.   I like mystery books and detective and sci-fi shows
