DISTRICT TRIP - AK'  TENAMIT, GUATEMALA
 
The District trip being planned is to the Village of Ak’ Tenamit, Guatemala from February 23, 2018 to March 4, 2018. The project will involve working on installing a tile floor in a facility on the girls side of the facility including, as well as building wooden lockers.  
 
Cost of the trip $1,700.  The price of $1,700 includes round trip airfare from Chicago to San Pedro Sula, Honduras, lodging for 9 nights (double occupancy), all ground transportation to/from SPS Airport and Puerto Barrios and Copan, boat transportation to/from Puerto Barrios and Livingston, daily boat transportation to/from Livingston and Ak’ Tenamit, minimum of 8 dinners and 7 lunches, 9 breakfasts, and most importantly, materials for project. District 6440 has acquired an iron lung machine and is collaborating with neighboring Rotary districts to create an educational trailer, available to all districts and clubs. The purpose of the trailer is to raise public awareness and further support in the eradication of polio.
