Carol Hannagan Newest BBRC member

Carol Hannagan presented her Classification talk sharing visuals and stories of growing up in Rockford and southern Illinois with many siblings and a blended family.  She is nothing if not adaptive as she outlined a variety of working experiences and educational experiences that opened up a wide world of things to see, do and love.  With a degree in plant and soil sciences she has always loved nature and growing things.  Outdoor experiences would always be fun for Carol and her family, as well as the family she established with her husband Patrick which includes three grown boys.  She also developed a love of fishing and cooking.

With her husband’s experience in self-owned and private businesses and design work, Carol had the opportunity to work with him as well as experiment with additional opportunities of her own.  Moving to northern Illinois included exposure to the hospitality industry and administration/ operations.  Most recently Carol continues part time work with BACOA on financial and operations software. This last assignment has enamored her with working with the elderly.

Carol indicated her future includes: Rotary, caring for her mom, travel, more time with her husband, and some day weddings and grand kids.  She and her husband continue to be major supporters of the Purple Plunge in Lake Zurich each year.  Purple Plunge's purpose is to raise awareness, provide aid, and support to cancer survivors, their families, and caregivers on a local level.
