Visioning
The Visioning process last week was quite interesting. The process we went through was only the beginning. We have some information that will be shared with the club at our July 1, 2021 hybrid meeting.  There are a handful of committees being formed to put the Vision into action formulating a plan for our club for the next three years. More information on all of this on July 1.

2022 Installation Dinner
The 2022 Installation Dinner will be at Rolling Green Country Club on Thursday, June 24. 6:00 Cocktails, 7:00 pm dinner.  We hope to see many of you there. This is our opportunity to thank Joe for his leadership during this very tough year, learn which members are being recognized for their contributions to the club this year, and hear a bit from Betsy on her plans for the coming year. You can use this link to register.

Community Drive-Thru Book Drive with Bernie's Book Bank and School District 25 will be held Friday, June 18 from 10:00am-2:00pm at Ivy Hill Elementary School in AH.  Our volunteer slots are all filled, thank you volunteers! However, we would like to make some contributions to the drive itself.  The Ask - bring new or gently used children's books for ages birth to 6th grade. No 'over-loved' books, no text books, work books, dictionaries.

Speaking of Vision....
I received a phone call on Friday from Pat Archer, a Mt. Prospect resident. She's involved with an organization called Foundation Fighting Blindness. This non-profit holds a 5K every year. This year is virutal. The event is going on right now. Pat was wondering if our club would like to make a contribution. I epxlained the Rotary fiscal year and said it was unlikely we could do that at this point, but her story was compelling. She has a 16-year old granddaughter who has Stargardts disease, making her legally blind. I told her I would share the information on the 5k with our membership and maybe some indivdual members would be interested in participating. If you would like to learn more, click here.  The link will show you that the event was last Saturday. However, like our 2020 virtual Santa Run, the event is open for the next two weeks to anyone who wants to participate whether by running or donating.
