Guest Speakers David Clough - April 5, 2016
Guest Speaker David Clough, from The Skokie Health Department.

Guest Speaker David Clough from the Skokie Health Department, did a program titled "Rethink Your Drink".

David spoke about the excessive sugar intake by humans, especially in present and resent times. He spoke primarily about the enormous sugar contained in the hundreds varieties of soda drinks, energy drinks, sweetened iced tea, juices and sport drinks; not mentioning the many varieties of sweets such as candies, donuts, pastries, and the list goes on and on, available practicably at all stores. This is partly the reason why diabetes and related diseases have been going rampant in recent years, "he said".

In addition, "David said", consider that all carbohydrates, such as bread, pasta, rice, etc.. we eat are converted into sugar. So, next time you go out for pizza, think twice before you wash it down with a bottle of soda. Water, although considered boring by some people, would definitely be a healthier alternative.
