Good afternoon, fellow Rotarians!
Be sure to attend tomorrow's meeting to hear from Wayne Slaton, who will speak on Rotary's efforts to eradicate Polio once and for all. I am sure he will also discuss RI's plans to focus on other areas of health once we have vaccinated enough people to remove polio as a threat.
Many thanks to Heather Rimato for telling us about Operation Turkey. I spoke with Heather yesterday. This project is blowing up (in a good way!) and it looks like we will have the opportunity to participate AND feed people in our area a nice, healthy Thanksgiving meal. Please be on the lookout for more information as the logistics are worked out.
There was a great turnout this past weekend at the Abner Jackson Plantation historical site. See the story section below for pictures. Many thanks to Mike Coburn and David Landsborough for organizing this project.
Our Service Projects director, Susie Downs, will also give us an update on upcoming opportunities for you to serve your community during the holiday season.
QUICK REMINDER: The meeting scheduled for Tuesday, November 16 will take place in The Center for the Arts & Sciences' art gallery at noon. Please mark your calendars so that you remember where to go on that day. (We will NOT have a meeting on Tuesday, November 23, 2021.)
Don't forget to register for Rotary International Convention in Houston. The link to do so is Houston | Rotary Convention. We will also have volunteer opportunities for you to sign up for soon.
