We had a great Shrimp Boil & Fish Fry for 2014.  Scott did a great job as did everyone involved.  I want to thank each of you for making it a huge success.  We indeed have a great club.  This club fundraiser continues to grow and impress.  I look forward to Scott letting us know exactly what we did. I am also confident it will keep improving and growing.  Scott set a high mark for future SB chairs.

Today, Randy Webber will be with us.  Rod is getting great presenters and we all know that it is a coup to secure Congressman Webber to speak to our club.  We all need to show up and encourage the membership with your presence and personality.

Our exchange student should be in attendance this week.  Her name is Karin (CAR-in) Boman from Sweden.  From my time I have spent with her, I have found her to be very respectful and polite.  We need to appreciate Diane Glenn, Jim Pierce, and Keith Franks for their work and commitment in youth exchange.  It takes considerable time and training for them to keep us qualified to send and acquire students.

See ya there.

Stories
Diane Pavey from the San Jacinto Girl Scout Council recently accepted a $25,000 check for the Girls on the Go Program. The program helps benefit economically disadvantaged girls.
Tom Pruett, Honorary Member, accepts a $3,800 check for Crystal Crafters.

Dear Fellow Rotarians,
With the approval of our fearless Shrimp Boil Leader, Scott Ferry, I am once again donating a 42" LED-HD Sanyo TV to raffle in conjunction with our Shrimp Boil. The revenue will still be counted as Shrimp Boil revenue but will be earmarked for the END POLIO NOW campaign. It will be $5 a chance or $20 for 5 chances.

Perks of being a Rotarian and purchasing tickets:

  • You will get credit for both your Shrimp Boil donation and Rotary Foundation donation which counts toward Paul Harris credits
  • It fulfills one of the criteria for this year's Presidential citation which states "Support Polio eradication through community fundraising initiatives......"
  • Since we are supporting Polio Eradication when the District Raffle tickets are issued, I will give you ticket stubs corresponding to your donation.
I will start selling the raffle tickets at our meetings on Tuesdays.
Accepting cash, checks made payable to the Brazosport Rotary Club or I will even bill you if you so desire. Last year our club made close to $2,000 on this effort.
Thanks again for your continued support .
Lucy
