Dear friends,
Welcome to our club's E-bulletin!
This bulletin will serve as your reminder of upcoming meetings, social events, service projects and other fun activities, including our annual Shrimp Boil and Fish Fry.
Even though I have been a member of this club for nearly five years, I sometimes find myself overwhelmed by the many club activities scheduled throughout the year. When a club is as vibrant and active as ours, that is inevitable. Add in district events and, this year, the Rotary International Convention in Houston, it is easy to lose track of what all is going on and what we need to pay attention to.
My hope is that this bulletin does not become just one more email filling your inbox. My goal is for it to be a reliable source for the most important news and announcements of our club. A way to distinguish "the signal from the noise".
I believe that information is power. The higher the quality of information you have access to, the more likely you will find opportunities to become more engaged, active and inspired in what we are trying to accomplish in our club. So, there are some features of this newsletter that we will start to use for, perhaps, the first time. There is space in the newsletter to remind you of the committees you serve on, upcoming events and registration portals, and other handy tools that will help you better engage with the club.
Just exploring the possibilities of this tool over the weekend has been exciting and, I admit, a little intimidating, from the administrative side. We have a lot to do to make this bulletin as useful as possible. So, I ask, in advance, for your patience as we figure it all out.
Thank you for reading this far! Please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any questions, concerns or suggestions on how best to keep our club members well-informed and “on fire” for Rotary.
I look forward to seeing you at our next meeting on Tuesday, July 13 at noon.
Sincerely,
Wes Copeland - Club President 2021/2022
