First let me apologize for last week. I was late getting my copy to Tabitha. I know how eager each of you are to read my words of wisdom. I hope you still made your way to the meeting and your week was not too empty because of the missed bulletin. I must say, Tabitha Ray, who is editor of the Bulletin, does a fantastic job. I will try to get her my copy earlier in the future. Last week we heard from a local product Ammar Habbib, a Brazosport Rotary scholarship recipient and a recently published author. He told us of his journey he went through to achieve his goal. Karla also gave a vocation speech. That was interesting as well. I called on her from the podium and she did a great job. Thanks Karla. That needs to be an example to everyone else, you never know when you might be asked to talk. This week we have Meredith King with True to Life Ministries. I am not sure of the subject but I am sure we it will be encouraging. We have had several people volunteer to help JA. They are still short. Check with Kim Effenberger if you can help out here. This is what we do. See you all there. Kenneth K. Vernor
On October 24 , members of Rotary clubs around the world – including over 34,000 clubs throughout the world – will celebrate World Polio Day. Polio eradication has been Rotary International’s top priority since 1985. World Polio Day is an opportunity to celebrate the 99% of countries that have eliminated polio, and also to reaffirm our commitment to seeing the last 1% of cases eliminated.
