Why the Brazosport Rotary Club Won
The "Rotary Large Club of the Year" award is a prestigious recognition bestowed by individual Rotary Districts to honor large clubs—typically those with 30 or more members that demonstrate exceptional performance across various areas of Rotary service and leadership. The award celebrates clubs that exemplify the Rotary motto of "Service Above Self" through impactful initiatives and active participation in Rotary programs. “It is very humbling and gratifying to be recognized in this way,” said Brazosport Rotary Club president Harold Nicoll. “For over 70 years our club members have persistently and consistently devoted themselves to the people who live and work here in southern Brazoria County. They are difference makers.”
The Brazosport Rotary Club was selected for:
- Membership Growth and Engagement,
- Service Projects,
- Youth Programs,
- Public Image and Community Engagement,
- Support for The Rotary Foundation,
- Leadership Development.
The "Rotary Large Club of the Year" award serves to acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding contributions of large Rotary clubs within their districts. By recognizing excellence in service, leadership, and community engagement, the award encourages clubs to strive for continuous improvement and greater impact. “Plus, the award itself is very creative and original looking. It’s extremely cool,” Nicoll concluded.
