The Importance of Childhood Literacy

Veronica Gossett, Community Outreach Coordinator with First Things First, will be the speaker at Copper Cities Rotary tomorrow.  Her topic?-  The Importance of Early Childhood Literacy.

Why is Early Childhood Literacy important?  90% of children's critical brain development occurs by age 5. Children who are read to, sung to, and talked to from a young age develop bigger vocabularies, become better readers, and are more likely to succeed in school.

Successful students become successful adults and literacy is the key.
Be sure to set the time aside to hear about this important topic!

Copper Cities Rotary meets at Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center in the Turquoise room at Noon.  For those interested in lunch, the cafeteria has a variety of menu items for you to choose from for a minimal fee.
