Rotary Program October 2nd!

District Governor Rich Kirkham will be honoring us as our speaker this Wednesday, October 2nd, during our regular noon meeting at Kaley, WVMC on the corner of Logan/South 10th. Mark your calendar and please plan to attend this very special meeting.

He will address the topic “What is a Rotarian?”

Rotary is a world-wide service organization. There are 44 clubs in Idaho. District Governor Rich Kirkham is a member of the Pocatello Rotary Club. He travels the entire state of Idaho and parts of Oregon during his year as Governor to strengthen and encourage clubs in their efforts to do perform service and to do good both in their local communities and in the world.  According to the Rotary Governor, “Rotary connects the world! Our connections make powerful things happen. We are people of ACTION. We come together to solve problems. We forget about ourselves and serve others.”

Rotary has 1.2 Million members worldwide and 1744 members in the Idaho District.  Rotarians are business and community leaders both young and old who come together to enjoy fellowship and to support good causes. Mr. Kirkham says, “So many people these days are lost, discouraged, depressed, or friendless. I have learned that to find yourself, you must first lose yourself in service to others. Rotary is a great place to do just that!”

Rich Kirkham  has been a Rotarian for 20 years. He is a real estate professional, author, pilot, avid reader and tireless volunteer. Rich Has been recognized as a “blackbelt volunteer“ and serves or has served on multiple boards including The Greater Pocatello Chamber of Commerce, The Bannock Development Corporation, Idaho State Civic Symphony, Valley Pride, Industrial Lands, Academy Charter School, Pocatello Valley Montessori School, and Portneuf Pioneers. He recently completed a 4 year term as Regional Director for He is a proud emeritus Boy Scout leader. He was recently inducted as a member of The National Eagle Scout Association for his lifelong support of Scouting. He also has served as a leader in various capacities for his church and he and his wife Kathy enjoy being very active grandparents to 12 wonderful grandchildren.
