Shelly Wilson has invited Lisa K. Clark, Project Manager with indieDwell, Inc. to speak about this Public Benefit Corporation.
indieDwell was founded in 2016 as a Public Benefit Corporation by Scott Flynn with help from Pete Gombert. Scott’s vision was to change the building industry by offering a high quality, sustainable, healthy home to underserved communities. He was tired of seeing the most vulnerable people being forced to live in inferior, low quality, and unhealthy homes. indieDwell is GoodWell Certified and will become a B Corp in 2019.
At indieDwell we feel there is a moral and social obligation to do better. We are designing, and manufacturing high quality, durable, healthy living environments at a cost which is comparable to or lower than conventional stick built. These are homes we are proud to put our name on and are confident will lead to better lives and better outcomes for our end use customers.
Our Caldwell factory employs about 25 full-time skilled and unskilled laborers with full benefits and paid time off. We continue to expand, and we see an increased demand for these jobs as word of our company spreads and employees continue to say "I love my job!"
