THE CONEJO HEROES PROJECT!
Adventurous Teens wanted! We’re looking for 15-18 year olds that want to travel the world, learn another language and culture and make lifelong international friendships. The year abroad enables students to become more self-confident, self-sufficient and better world citizens. A Rotary Youth Exchange year abroad is valued at over $24,000 due to our volunteer efforts. Check out www.studyabroadscholarships.org to learn more. Children of Rotarians are also eligible. E-mail Mary at paseta@att.net for an application. Don’t delay! Interviews and initial orientation are January 25th, 2020.

On his way from his home in California to the Rotary International Convention in Hamburg, Germany, Edwin Velarde took an unusual detour. Click here to read all about it in this article published in the September, 2019 issue of The Rotarian magazine.

The Westlake Village Rotary Club launched a pilot program to support lower-income campuses of the Conejo Valley Unified School District. In the first year, Rotary gave $50 gift cards to 100 teachers at six elementary schools in the district. Teachers can use the funds to augment supplies provided by their schools. Members of the club are involved in fundraising efforts throughout the year, including the Westlake Village Street Festival and the Oakheart Music Festival.

The Rotary Club of Westlake Village is helping to raise money for the victims and the families of the victims and survivors. Funds will be collected by the Westlake Village Rotary Unrestricted Charitable Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 tax-exempt certified charity.
If you would like to make a tax deductible donation, please make out your check payable to the "Westlake Village Rotary Unrestricted Charitable Foundation" Write Borderline Strong in the memo field. Please include your name, an email address and your request to receive a charitable donation letter (if needed) and mail to Rotary Club of Westlake Village, P.O. Box 3331, Thousand Oaks, CA 91359.
Patrons, neighbors, and larger community can get official updates and calendar of upcoming events, at www.BorderlineBar.com
