Firecracker 595!
A recap of the Firecracker is in our future. Suffice to say that it was a rousing success with 595 registrants, topping last year's participation.
Welcome President Penni Bengtson
Penni introduced herself this week and started by sharing Rotary International President Gordon R. McInally's call "...for Rotary to create hope in the world by working for peace and mental wellbeing." He urges menbers to engage in tough conversations and earn the trust that's necessary to realize these values. This year's theme is Create Hope in the World. 
About Penni
Penni was born in port Angeles, Washington and grew up moving around Washington, Oregon, and California. She enjoyed being outdoors and was a Brownie and Girl Scout, a swimmer, avid camping, hiking and fishing and played baseball and flag football. She was a self-described tomboy.
In time, her family moved to British Columbia and she graduated from University of Victoria with a BA/BS Physiological Psychology. Two days after graduating she left town and moved to California.
That move set the stage for the rest of her life - so far.
And then came Finish Line Productions, her passion, and has produced 108 triathalons and 50 runs of all distances. Now she's selling that business (but keeping a few favorite runs). She spent 5 years as the chair of the USA Triathalon Race Director Committee, and now is on the curriculum committee for the Endurance Exchange next January for USA Triathalon. Penni is also a USA Cycling Certified Coach and a US Master Swimming Level 3 Certified Coach and Adult Learn to Swim Coach.

Meetings this Year
Each meeting the club provides breakfast for guests and is something we will continue. These costs add up and we need each member to contribute and support the Be Our Guest fund. If every member contributes $2 a week, we will cover our expenses. We do have meeting fees as well. It's $10 a week and $10 additional if you'd like the full breakfast.
The Raffle. We're going back to a two stage raffle with a jackpot and a sure thing.
