As the club gets ready to for the annual bike ride, we thought everyone would find it encouraging and that it would be appropriate to follow up on one of our major beneficiaries a few years back. LEO's Haven.
The park has been a tremendous success and it inspired the Cities of Watsonville and Capitola to create new inclusive playgrounds so children of all abilities will be able to play side by side with their friends and families throughout the county!
Watsonville has funded and is planning on building an inclusive playground at Ramsey Park. This summer, the City of Capitola and County Park Friends launched a public-private partnership to create the Jade Street Park Universally Accessible Playground. In addition to city funding, County Park Friends is working to raise $1 Million in private funding from the community.
