Jul 16: President Tiffany Wise-West
Welcome, Tiffany! Our incoming president Tiffany Wise-West will share her ideas and vision about the upcoming year.

Jul 23: Dr. Bryan Gaensler
Fast Radio Bursts or "FRBs" are powerful, millisecond-long flashes of radio waves from space that occur every minute or two, with some bursts putting out more energy than an entire year of sunlight. FRBs are notoriously difficult to study because they literally vanish in the blink of an eye. Our speaker, Professor and Dean Bryan Gaensler, is an international expert on these cosmic wonders. Please join us to hear about Professor Gaensler's research on the causes of FRBs and how they inform us about the evolution of the cosmos.

Area 9 Rotary Club Collaborative Project
Got some Spare Time this Summer to Glean?  An Area 9 Rotary Club collaborative project coming out of the Food Insecurity Symposium, please consider helping to harvest fresh produce donated by farms and private property owners across Santa Cruz County that will be distributed to those in need. No experience needed—tools and guidance provided. The goal is to have 5 Area 9 Rotarians volunteer (any day) each week through September (not 5 volunteers per club; 5 in total). All you need to do is sign up online for days you are interested in and sign a waiver at this easy website. Location listed at sign up. Open every Tues, Thurs and Sat 9 am - noon through September. Meet another local Rotarian!  Help solve the food insecurity crisis!

SAVE THE DATE: Aug 1st - Come celebrate ex-President Dave and the high energy and amazing Rotary spirit he brought to each and every meeting. Details to follow.

HELP EXPAND OUR CLUB'S REACH
-- Tiffany Wise-West --

Many of us are on social media but don't actively use it. There are some simple actions you can take that could really help us reach more folks within and outside our networks.  With the upcoming bike ride, we could use more exposure. Here are some simple tips for helping us spread the word:
Be sure you are following our social media channels by clicking "follow" at at both  http://www.facebook.com/SantaCruzSunriseRotary and http://www.instagram.com/santacruzsunrise/
When you see a Santa Cruz Sunrise post on your Facebook or Instagram feed, don't just like or love it (thumbs up/heart icon in the lower left hand corner of post), repost it to your page (via the curved arrow [FB] or the curved up and down arrow icon [Insta] in the lower left hand corner of the post)!  Unless 12 people repost a post, the algorithm deprioritizes showing it!

More social media 101 coming soon!
