Lisa Krigsman offered an excellent summary of the Hanukkah story and why the candles are lit in the menorah. The menorah Lisa brought was shaped like a bicycle - how appropriate. She was then joined by Jon Winston and his daughter Rae for the lighting of the candles as she offered a prayer.
Following the lighting of the candles, we all played dreidle, a game in which participants spin a four-sided top for pennies, or if you're lucky, Hanukkah gelt (chocolate coins).

Special Olympics Polar Plunge
This coming February, the Club is fielding a team for the Special Olympics Polar Plunge, March 2nd. Suzy Andrade and Special Olympian Ashley Valldilez were kind enough to drive over the hill early in the morning to excite, inspire us for the Polar Plunge
and allay fears of having to completely submerge in the cold water and to offer some additional information about Special Olympics. This year the Polar Plunge will take place at Beach Boardwalk. As always, if you'd like to watch Suzy and Ashley's presentation, it's on our
