District Governor, Savita Vaidhyanathan
It was wonderful to have the opportunity to hear directly from
Savita Vaidhyanathan, District Governor, about the scope of our activities, the makeup of the district, a forthcoming multi-district public awareness campaign, and her Four S approach as a way for Rotary to adapt to a changing world and achieve our objectives. She covered a tremendous number of programs, projects and impacts in her brief 30 minutes. If you can, watch the meeting video and hear her message.

Storm Clean Up Opportunities in Near Term:
- The City of Santa Cruz Public Works director will not approve Rotarians to help out with storm clean up on beaches or roads stating that they wanted to ensure proper equipment and safety procedures were utilized.
- The Santa Cruz County Volunteer Center has storm response opportunities. Tiffany has created an account and emailed that we (Sunrise Rotary) are on standby to assist. If you're interested in signing up as an individual, click this link to learn more.

International Efforts & Sunrise Rotary
Our Guatemala Water Warriors returned last Thursday and will share their stories soon. They are shown below at the Esquinitia Regional Pediatric Hospital. Stay tuned for an update.
We are now in our 2nd Global Grant project with our partner club in Kasese. When we make our trip in July, the focus will be on hygiene training.
Peggy Pollard started a new discussion group to fill the gap when COVID and other factors delayed most in person activities. The group is REAP, Rotary East Africa Projects. There are approximately 95 participants from our District and others as well as Rotarians in East Africa. If you're interested in participating, please reach out to Peggy.
The Rotary Foundation
A picture is worth a thousand words. What this club does is astonishing and we are now 91% of the way to our goal and will almost certainly achieve our objective before the Rotary year is complete. If you're interested in signing up for monthly, automatic donations, contact Jon Winston.
Paul Harris Recipients
The Crystal Award, given to recognize Major Donors of $10,000 or more, was presented to Bob and Patrice Keet by District Governor Savita Vaidhyanathan. Though they are fairly new members to our club, their passion for their local and international communities is clear and compelling.
In addition, we recognized three new Paul Harris recipients. Betty Bullaro, Paul Harris; Dave Campbell, Paul Harris +2; and Ross Condit, Paul Harris +8.
