Read on, read on. We have news. And we have dates for you to put on the calendar. Lots of dates. Most importantly, we need all of you to sign up for the 40th anniversary bash (rumor is that Rotarians are people of action or something like that...).
This Reveille has info on that event and more - read on below.....

A brief descriptor: It's back and it's going to be the best ride yet! 2.5 days of pedaling from the Vineyards-to-the-Sea...Beauty, Fun and Fellowship. The open air adventure begins Day 1 in Healdsburg where riders pedal through lush vineyards along the Russian River, stop for lunch riverside at Rick Hofstetter's family home, and culminates in a restful evening of food, refreshment and a pool party in Rohnert Park; Day 2 continues through the tranquil Petaluma Dairy Farm Region, veers along Tomales Bay, then cruises down through the quaint hamlets of Marin into Sausalito for lunch (and a beer or two at No Names Bar), then across the towering majesty of the Golden Gate with a sparkling (or fog shrouded) view of San Francisco, up through Golden Gate Park to the Great Highway, then a left turn and sprint to the crashing waves at Pacifica; Day 3 meets us with a steep but short pull up to Devil's Slide, then a roly-poly straight shot into Santa Cruz along Highway 1 where the Uber-Festive Finish Line Party awaits at West Coast Community Bank on Water St.
Editor's Note
I joined Jerry Souza to visit the Santa Cruz Rotary on Friday, Aug 1 - that's the afternoon Rotary, the "old" one, the one that has been around for like 104 years. Dave Price and Jon Flaniken were there the week before, shlepping the bike ride. The visit was definitely interesting and I highly encourage people to visit other clubs. It provides perspective, just like international travel (but oh, so much cheaper and easier). I came away with a deeper appreciation of all that we have - Our amazing tech setup, the overall set up and vibe of our location, the food choices, the cadence of our meetings....
Also, it seems like they do printed newsletters - there were a few on every table and I got a chuckle out of the headline...
For those who don't get it... they are the Rotary Club of Santa....
The good or bad news, depending on your perspective, I will not be switching teams...
