Cabrillo College President Matt Wetstein gave an update of the happenings at the college. He also contrasted the US Supreme Court with the Canadian one. Heavy stuff for a morning talk but hey, thats how we roll. Also, the Canadian Justices wear fancy robes (some may even call them old-fashioned)

The Sunrise Rotary Ride (aka, Jon and Ken’s Most Excellent Adventure) starts on Sep 26!
The proceeds of this year's ride will support the construction of Treasure Cove, the new universally accessible playground at Capitola’s Jade Street Park.
If pedaling 200 miles for a great cause is not your cup o' tea, please consider becoming a sponsor or supporting one of our stouthearted riders or crew members with a contribution to their fundraising effort. Pitching in is simple, fast and oh so rewarding! Riders commit to raising a minimum of $1000 each so why not help them hit their goal while doing something awesome for the kids in Santa Cruz.
Training rides are happening. The training ride schedule and contact info is posted to the ride website under Training Rides menu at the top of every page.
Tracy Cotten has been on the bike ride for many years. For the last three years, he has chosen to step up and become a spirit presenting sponsor donating between $2500 and $5000. He has also been leading all of the training rides the last two years. For all that, he was presented a plaque. Thank you Tracy for all that you do!
More Bike Ride Info - Send Off at 7am on Sep 26
All members who aren’t riding or crew are welcome to show up at the Gateway shopping center (i.e., Ross/World Market/Pet Smart at the corner of Hwy 1 and River St) at 7am, for a rousing chorus of On the Road Again, and an anticipation-filled send-off of the riders as they depart on their epic 3 day, 200 mile journey. (Did you see the use of the word, epic? It is used again here).
More Bike Ride Info - Finish Line Party on Sep 28
The Rotary Ride Finish Line Party is on Saturday 28 at the Santa Cruz County Bank on Water and River St. Members, families and friends are welcome and encouraged to attend to cheer home the riders. The party starts at noon with the riders making their grand return at 1pm. Please come and and celebrate and enjoy the fun, food and auction at the conclusion of the epic 27th Annual Sunrise Rotary Ride (epic!).

Wine pouring Rob Morse generated $168 worth of tips from last month’s social at Aptos Vineyard that will go toward the Bike Ride's Designated recipient Treasure Cove.
Sunrise Members Hart, Nethercutt, Rossi, Topiz and Truman were seen at the Jacob’s Heart Golf Tournament on Friday, Sept 6. Great fundraiser for a great local charity focused on supporting kids with cancer and their family’s.
Life has become... ummm... full. Lots going on, personally and professionally, as tends to happen. It is what it is, it is wonderful and it is life.
