The Charities and Grants committee led by Roger Swenson gives modest monetary grants to deserving organizations and individuals in the Santa Cruz area. The primary focus is children, youth, and the elderly. Grants can also include music, sports, schools, and community activities and events. Preference is given to local activities and groups. Requests where members of the Rotary Club have personal knowledge or involvement have a priority. However, requests must come in writing from an organization and not from a member of the club.
Holiday Party! This year's holiday party is on December 8th and will be held at the Paradox. No specific dress code, but it sounds like the challenge is on to wear the ugliest holiday sweater. Is it hanging in your closet? By the time you read this you will have received an email with more information. It's just $50, bring a friend. Contact Patrice Keet if you need more information.
TRF - The Rotary Foundation - Rod Caborn kicked off this year's TRF campaign with a simple description of the impact we have with our Foundation giving. It's not a complicated story, our efforts have improved the lives of others around the globe.
