This week we welcomed Leslie O'Malley, Waste Reduction Program Manager at City of Santa Cruz. Whether you're in the City or in the County, recycling is easier and simpler than ever.
Recycling is going through a renaissance, initiated in 2018 when China started refusing shipments of recyclables that didn't meet agreed to standards. That forced a review and rethinking of how and what we recycle.
Interesting note, 77% of litter is food and beverage packaging. You can make a big impact by ditching the "Big 4": disposable water bottles, disposable coffee cups, plastic straws, and single-use bags.
