Come listen to our very own DeAndre James talk about the transformation of the
Community Health Trust Diabetes Health Center into Centro de Bienestar, their most exciting initiative to date. This Center located in downtown Watsonville will be a welcoming community space where Pajaro Valley residents can access the tools, support, and services they need to live healthier lives.
Oct 23: People First of Santa Cruz County
Caroline ‘CJ’ King, Community Relations Team Lead of People First will share their organization’s steadfast commitment and highlight the programs that advance their vision of a community where unhoused individuals are safe and supported and ultimately have a place to call home.

Matt Miller & Scott Farmer from Ecology Action discussed efforts to advocate for policies and projects that advance sustainable, accessible, and equitable mobility.
We also awarded the checks to our Bike Ride recipients and thanked all those involved. Bike Ride pictures can be seen online.

Project Pajamas

Project pajamas will be this Sat, Oct 18, at Twin Lakes Church starting at 9:00. Please consider bringing a brand new pair of PJs to the meeting on Thursday or to the church anytime up to and including Saturday. Project Pajamas tries to donate new PJs to every child in our community who is in a homeless shelter or some other form of transitional housing. We include the homeless shelters, the battered women's shelters, the foster youth - everyone we can connect with! The idea is that a new pair of PJs might help them sleep a little better.
If you would like to join us on Saturday, where we package the PJS and then deliver them, please bring some one gallon zip lock baggies, some sharpies, and come to Twin Lakes at 9:00.

I’d like to give a special thanks to Mary Alsip, Betty Bolano, George and Elizabeth Bunch and Eileen Beaudry’s husband, Greg Larson, for their helping hands at the Santa Cruz Children’s Museum of Discovery’s Honk and Smash event which had over 4,000 visitors. The Museum will be hosting our Rotary Club for a mixer on Wednesday November 12 from 5:30- 7. Look for more details but put it on your calendar and invite a friend. We’ll have a prize for the person bringing the most new people.

The Rotary Club of Freedom is thrilled to invite you to their exhilarating Uncork Corralitos wine-tasting garden party on Saturday, October 18th. This fantastic event will feature an array of local wines, beer, cider, and mouthwatering delights from three of food trucks. As you wander through the enchanting gardens of Alladin Nursery, get ready to groove to the incredible live sounds of Alex Lucero.
