Mike Masucci came in to talk to us about a donation for the DeSantis family.  They lost their father, Joseph DeSantis.  There are two children who attend the Poland schools and one little boy, Quintino, has downs syndrome.  Mike found a buddy bike for him so he can ride his bike with his mom and sister and the cost is $1536.00.  There have already been funds raised by the school to total $536 and we voted to donate $200 from the club.  The Poland PTO has already funded the rest so that Quintino can have his bike so any additional donations will go to the PTO to refund them.  Anyone who would like to donate can send a donation to Poland PTO, 30 Riverside Drive, Poland, Ohio  44514.

 

We heard a little from Casey, our scholarship winner.  She was the leadership president and she started a hat/scarf and glove drive last year and raised 800 items to donate to Youngstown elementary schools.  She is going to YSU next year.

 

We inducted our newest member, Scott Volovar.  He is originally from Poland and has a home health care business.  For fun, Scott likes to golf and fly.  Welcome Scott!!

 

Board meetings will be moved to the last Friday of the month starting this month.  So the next board meeting will be Friday, June 30th at 8:00 at Wittenaurs.

 

Please bring $10 to meetings so that the staff does not have to make change!

 

Mark your calendar for the Fall Golf Outing which will be held on September 30th at 9:00 at Bedford.

There will be NO MEETING on July 5th... instead the flag committee will be meeting at Todd's office if you are available.  Please let David know as soon as possible.

 

Dues are due by June 30th.  Please get them in if you have not already!

 

Easter Seals Event- Poland Rotary is being named a corporate sponsor for this event on July 21, Friday night(due to our donation from the Chili Open)  so there are 6 seats available that come with the sponsorship.  It will be on a first come first serve for those 6 seats.  I believe Tim, Chris, David and Dan went last year so if someone else would like to go, it's a fun evening with great food. Casual and Hawaiian shirts.  Your ticket includes the food and entrance.  Beer and margaritas are $2   There is also a Chinese and silent auction and Barry Dyngles will be having a queen of hearts drawing.   Let Mary Ann know if you are interested.
