Our speaker today was John Muckridge, CEO of The Rescue Mission.  John came to the Rescue Mission in 2011 as a volunteer teaching and tutoring clients in the Mission's Learning Center. He grew to love the Mission and became the Director of education , Director of Client Services and finally to the CEO. John believes the Lord has clearly communicated his vision for this ministry where we learn that we serve Jesus by serving the least of these and we love Jesus by loving the least of these.
The club voted to give $200 to the Poland Interact Club towards their projects in the community. A group of 6 interact students showed up to help us with the flags (their photo is above).
Important Information:
  • We will be sorting the 100 coats from Operation Warm to distribute to a few of the local children's charities on Sunday, November 24th  at 1pm at Roof Rite's office 1236 Velma in Boardman (off of Lake Park Road). Anyone that can come for an hour to help separate the coats into sizes and gender would be greatly appreciated.
  • Also, on Saturday, November 23rd, we need help in repairing the flags and clips that took a beating during the months. We will meet at 9 am at Brandon's garage at Amerifirst, 577 E Western Reserve, Poland Ohio  44514.  Please take an hour to help out on Saturday morning! The process with taking down the flags, with those that showed up to help, and the Interact Students was seamless and all the 300 plus flags are down. Thanks to Tim Crowe's organization... Not all members were able to show up that day, so here is your opportunity to help with the repair of the flags.
  • Dennis Schiraldi, President of DOYO Marketing,  attended our meeting and discussed social media and marketing for the Chili Open Events. He and Brandon are working on putting together ways to secure more sponsorships and get the word out on the events to a larger audience. More to come at our meeting on December 4th. A motion was made and passed that the club will spend $5,000 on  advertising.
