Today we had our current President, Mike Grant, tell us a little about himself. Mike is a pastor at the Poland Methodist Church but that was not always his intent. He wanted to be a lawyer. Instead of becoming a lawyer, he became a pastor and married a lawyer. Mike has been married to Holly for 23 years. Mike is passionate about his mission trips. He has been on 26 missions including two to Sierra Leone. He leaves in June to travel with 70 others to Virginia Beach to help with repairs to homes damaged by Hurricane Mathew. Soon, Mike will leave us and move to Shreve, OH to be the pastor at the Shreve United Methodist Church. He will be missed!
Larry distributed the Chili Open Awards Committee Recommendations which gave us a list of the recipients of this years Chili Open/Night at the Races distributions. This year we will be giving $23,500 to 20 local charitable organizations.
Steve Zentko gave us an update on Rotary Park. We got a proposal to put down weed barrier and rock and the total will be $1400.00. $780.00 of that will come from our district grant. Motion made and passed to accept proposal. Thank you Steve for all you do for Rotary Park.
Flag Program Update:
Currently we have 100 new and renewal flags to be distributed. Please see David for door hangers to walk around and hang in your neighborhood! We have had some response to the flyers sent home with the Poland Students and David is currently running an ad on Facebook. Please share it with your contacts!
We had the pleasure of welcoming DG Sig Warren to our meeting today to share with us this flyer and give a little background information on Jennifer Jones. Please mark your calendar if you want to attend.

May 2nd: Board Meeting at 8:00am at Wittenaurs
May 3rd: Recipients breakfast at 9:00am at the Poland Library. Please RSVP to Mary Ann if you have not already and plan to bring $10 cash or check on the day of the event.
May 6th: Jennifer Jones at 8:00am at the Foltz Community Center
May 7th: Curbstone Coaches. All those attending who have not yet paid Todd, the cost is $60.
May 24th: Larry will be presenting the Carmella Smallhoover and Poland Rotary Scholarship to the winning student.
June 2nd: Presidents Party to be held at 6:00 at the Bury residence.
