Our September 11th speaker was Lauren Flauto. Lauren is the Marketing & Public Relations Manager for Shepherd of the Valley. Shepherd of the Valley has four locations in the area, including Boardman, Poland, Niles, and Howland. There is currently a fifth location being built in Liberty, which will offer memory care. Shepherd of the Valley offers a complete continuum of care, from independent living to home health. It is launching a new program called Steady Steps with Shepherd, which works to identify fall risks and address those risks with the help of an interdisciplinary team; the interdisciplinary team includes physicians, nurses, personal care aides, physical & occupational therapists, pharmacists, durable medical equipment specialists, home modification specialists, social workers, dieticians, and an electronic monitoring system. The Steady Steps with Shepherd aims to decrease fall risks and create a safer environment for individuals to live in independently.
