PP Bob McClenathan and Club Facilitator announced that RCL Board Elections will be held April 3^rd.  Please review the ballot below.  There are four (4) Candidates for two (2) positions.

 

Since 2016, I have been the principal of J. Alton Consulting, which serves nonprofit organizations in central and eastern Pennsylvania, and a partnering consultant with Lindsley Development Consulting. My areas of expertise include fundraising, grant writing, capital campaign planning and implementation, and organizational assessment and planning. During my 30 years in the nonprofit sector, I have worked in organizations both large and small, from the National Geographic Society to the North Museum of Nature and Science.

 

My ties to Rotary date back more than 30 years. My father (and new Club member), Bruce, is a past president of the Rotary Club of Billings, Montana, and our family hosted a Rotary exchange student from Finland. I joined this Club in 2006 and have chaired both the Youth Exchange and Music Committees. Since last year, I have spearheaded sponsorship efforts for the Wheels and Wings Festival & 5K. Personally and professionally, I can finally serve the Club in the way I think a good board member should. My passion for Rotary stems from its emphasis on building relationships, serving the community, and promoting peace through understanding.

 

My wife, Kathy, teaches at Lancaster Catholic High School (her alma mater). Our son, Matt, will graduate from Kent State this spring, while our daughter Amy is a freshman at Cabrini University. I sing in the choir of St. Edward’s Episcopal Church and occasionally perform in local community theater productions. I love Lancaster, and I would be excited to help our Club make this community an even better place to live. 

 

 

 

 

After a ten-year career in television broadcasting and two years working with the government lobbyist for Boys and Girls Clubs of America, I finally realized my true passion lay in working to make a difference in the lives of young people. I became an English and journalism teacher and taught for 16 years in Howard County, Maryland, at Manheim Township High School and, most recently, at York Suburban High School. While teaching, I also coached JV girls’ basketball and varsity tennis and served on the School Improvement Team and Principal’s Advisory Committee. I was awarded Teacher of the Year honors five times by the senior classes and was also named Outstanding Educator by the Howard County Chamber of Commerce in 2001.

 

Retiring in 2015 has given me a chance to travel and to continue giving back to the community. I’m a fourth-generation Rotarian in this Club, joining in 2016. I chair the Youth Exchange Committee and co-chair RYLA and also participate on the Joys and Concerns, Power Packs and Tip-Off Tournament Committees. Recently, I completed a three-year term on the Board of Lancaster Dollars for Higher Learning, an organization that provides interest-free loans to college students who demonstrate need; last year I served as the Board President. 

 

Born in Lancaster, I have lived in Atlanta, GA and the Washington, DC area prior to returning to my hometown in 2006. Married for 27 years to Dave Lewis, I have two adult stepchildren, six grandchildren, and three foreign exchange student “sons.”  My hobbies are travel, reading, film, and sports.

 

 

Clint Krushinsky is the business development specialist for Rodgers & Associates. Previously Clint was VP of Operations for a local wholesaler of millwork products, where he worked for 13 years. Clint joined Rotary in December of 2014, and has been an active member, serving as co-chair for the membership and SDOL committees. For the past two years he has managed the club’s involvement in the Power Packs Project.

 

Clint serves as a deacon at Faith Bible Fellowship Church and on their finance committee. A lifetime resident of Lancaster county, he grew up in Lancaster City and currently resides in Manheim Township with his wife and two children. He roots for his kids and all Pittsburgh teams. Clint enjoys playing guitar, sports and being active. His favorite family vacation spot is Chincoteague, VA.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Scott is a Rotary Club of Lancaster member since 2016. He moved from the East Petersburg Rotary Club where served as President x2. He initially joined the East Petersburg club in 1986. For a period in the early 1990s he was a member of the Rotary Club of Moorestown (NJ). He currently serves as co-chair of the Foundation Committee and has long term interests in the work of the Rotary Foundation. He is a Paul Harris Fellow +6 and a member of the Bequest Society.

 

Scott retired from AgChoice Farm Credit, Mechanicsburg, PA in 2010 where he served as Executive Vice President of Financially Related Services. AgChoice was one of several Farm Credit assignments for Scott in a 30+ year career in Agricultural Lending and Financial Services. He also served Farm Credit Organizations in other parts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Massachusetts and in two locations served as President/CEO.

 

Scott and his wife Jane (a retired Early Childhood educator) reside in East Petersburg. Scott serves as a Deacon for Trinity United Church of Christ where he is chair of the Finance Committee and also serves on the Property Committee. He is a Director of the Penn Central Conference United Church of Christ serving on the finance committee and Hartman Center management committee. In addition to a love of fine wine and cooking, he spends time reading (anything) and enjoys time spent at the East Petersburg Sportsman’s Club or the Elstonville Sportsmen’s Association. It is reported that he has a Pittsburgh Steelers hat.

 

 

 

 

Peter Barber reminded the Club that Friday, April 26, 2019 is Arbor Day and the Preserve Planet Earth will be leading our Club in a special event with the Lancaster Conservancy & City of Lancaster with planting trees. 

 

 

Alicia Moranz announced a meeting for Wednesday, March 27^th at 11:20pm for the MMC to discuss graduation and other items.

 

 

March 27^th at 5pm will have Chief Jarrad Berkihiser as the guest to discuss police disrespect, abuse and uncivilized behavior toward law enforcement.

 

 

 

Jamie Alton announced this year’s event to the Club.  He promises sunshine and great weather.  Jamie also asked the Club to volunteer, donate and find other revenue streams to make this major Spring Fundraiser a success!
