The White flag is out and we’re coming around turn three!  Prez Jeremy is heading for the finish line, although we have been running on a yellow flag since March 18th

Prez Jeremy & Prez-elect Ben will have the “Changing of the Guard” next week, July 1st and a new Rotary Year will begin with an unprecedented, unbelievable 2019-2020 Rotary Year ending.

Prez Jeremy will review his year and the events that shaped his term.  It is imperative that we document this period for our history for generations to come.  Rotary as we know it will be forever changed.

I’m tired of hearing, “We’re in it together,” reading “We’ll get through this,” and being ordered to “Stay Home!”  I realize those words needed to be said, but let’s ring the RCL Bell!  We as Rotarians always knew “we’re in it together,” RCL always “gets through it” and “Stay Home,” c’mon, we help people worldwide.

Once Jeremy passes the baton to Ben, we will continue to move forward with the new Rotary Jeremy was forced to implement.  Eventually, it will be like a pair of jeans fresh from the washer, tight, hard to zip, but in time they’ll feel like that old pair of jeans again.

Joy from Dave Foulk
We have such a wonderful neighborhood and now that we are all home, we have become very close.  I made whoopie pies for the neighborhood several weeks ago, the adults loved them more than the children.  We take turns with having social distancing happy hour.  One more happy note, my new neighbor who moved into Patti and Ted’s house, is a liquor salesman (isn’t that the luckiest thing in the world).  He always has good vodka.  In the afternoons, Fred and I sit outside and the neighbors drop by and we talk and it has become a perfect fellowship time for all of us.  It has slowed us all down a bit and we are happy about it.  Maybe, we were to have learned some lessons from this quarantine time…

Help Keep the Club Calendar Updated

All Rotarians – especially committee chairs – are encouraged to help keep our new Club Calendar full and updated with the great things that our Club is doing in the community.  Please submit any items you would like added to Kathy by e-mailing her at RotaryClubofLancaster@gmail.com.  Examples include the schedule of McCaskey Mentoring Sessions, Committee Meetings, Power Packs or Salvation Army Bell Ringing. If it’s happening, let’s get it on the Calendar for all to see!  Your help will keep us all updated with what’s going on within the Club AND will showcase our very active Club to the Lancaster Community and to prospective members.  The Club Calendar is available at www.LancasterRotary.org
