Heather is a native of Lititz, Lancaster County. She graduated from Warwick High School and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Millersville University, cum laude. Heather received her juris doctorate from Widener University School of Law in 1997, where she graduated cum laude and was ranked fourth in her class. Heather then served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable James P. Cullen in the Lancaster County Court of Common Pleas. Thereafter, she accepted a position as an Assistant District Attorney for the York County District Attorney's office where she began in general prosecution and was then assigned to the Narcotics Unit where she gained valuable experience prosecuting felony drug crimes and drug related homicides.
In 2002, Heather accepted a position with the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office in the Asset Forfeiture and Money Laundering Unit. Shortly afterwards, Heather transferred to the Drug Strike Force Section where she was responsible for felony drug and narcotics and corrupt organizations prosecutions in a nine-county area, including Lancaster County. In that section, she gained extensive experience with the Wiretapping and Electronic Surveillance Act and the Statewide Investigating Grand Jury.
In 2009, Heather received the Outstanding Prosecutor Award from the Pennsylvania Narcotics Officers Association and in 2010 she received the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General's Award for Excellence. Heather then joined Pyfer Reese Straub Gray and Farhat in March 2013, and has concentrated her practice on criminal defense since that time.
During her 20 plus years as an attorney, she has tried dozens of cases in front of juries in multiple counties.
Heather lives in Lititz with her husband and son.

Holiday 2019 Secret Angel Program of the Rotary Club of Lancaster’s
Refugee Center Committee
Our Club’s Refugee Center Committee has goal of filling Secret Angel holiday gift bags for 70 refugee children attending Reynolds Middle School. For many, this bag will be the only present they will receive during the holiday season.
We need your help to bring big smiles to 70young faces! Here’s what to do:
Fill a Holiday gift bag with $45 to $50 worth of items and return it to the Secret Angel Program table at the club by November 27th, 2019. Details and student-specific shopping lists with improved instructions will be available starting at the back of the room October 30th, 2019.
Imagine how happy you will make one child!
Wednesday, November 27th is the deadline for returning the filled bag to the Club.
Caleb Brown from the Music Committee, which is tasked with singing the National Anthem before each game, asked for anyone who wants to help sing, to please signup. The more singers the better, so please signup, or it will be just Caleb singing by himself.
Terry Radcliff on behalf of the Rotary Basketball Committee reported that several more volunteers are needed for the tournament. Please consider helping out and having fun.
Crab Feast at The Wellwood
Tuesday, November 12 is the date for the Crab Feast (note date change from November 14). We will be taking a bus leaving from the Farm and Home Center and heading to the Wellwood in Charlestown, MD. The menu will include: Maryland Crab Soup, Steamed Hardshell Crabs, Steamed Shrimp, Fried Chicken, French Fries, Chef's Potato Salad and soda, iced tea and coffee. Time leaving the Farm and Home Center and final price per person will be announced, but the estimate is $70 per person which includes the food, bus, and drinks and snacks on the bus. Just a quick update to let you know that although we worked diligently to secure a first host family for Santiago Mireles from Mexico, we were unable to find one. We are happy to report, however, that the York Rotary Club was able to step in and find host families for Santiago, so he is living in York and attending Dallastown High School.
