“The State of the Union in 2019: Polarized Politics,”Dr. Kyle C. Kopko
At the start of 2019, the United States was in the midst of a historic partial government shutdown - the longest ever in American history. Now that divided government has arrived in Washington, D.C., what might we expect in the coming months? How will the "new normal" of extreme partisan polarization influence national politics? These topics and more will be the subject of this presentation.
Dr. Kyle C. Kopko is an Associate Dean and Associate Professor of Political Science at Elizabethtown College. His research covers a wide array of topics in American politics, including election law, judicial behavior and campaigns and elections.
Dr. Kopko's research has been featured in numerous national and international news outlets, including the BBC, CNN, C-SPAN , FoxNews, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, and more.
Dr. Kopko has deep roots in Lancaster County. His ancestors arrived in what would later become Lancaster County in 1724 and founded Reamstown in the northeast of Lancaster County. ALMOST HERE! Rotary Club Ski Trip February 7th
Bus will leave Lancaster Country club at 6:45am and arrive by Executive Coach to Blue Mountain around 8:30am.
The group of motley skiers & boarders will until enjoy the slopes until around 4:00pm and depart for dinner at 4:30pm for dinner at DeMarco’s Italian Restaurant in Kutztown.

Lancaster Penn Square Rotary Club Valentine Fundraiser
Kay McClenathan, PP Bob’s lovely wife and better half, presented an opportunity for a Valentine’s Day gift. Heart cut-outs will be hung from the downtown lampposts and include a loving message of your choice. “Fur baby” cutouts of a dog or bone will be hung from the fence along Binn’s Park.
