Jeremiah Miller is a founding organizer of the Barney Ewell Legacy Committee, a group dedicated to sharing the inspiring Olympic sprinter’s story with future generations.
He has served for the last five years as the Coordinator of Alumni Affairs for the McCaskey Alumni Association, an organization that archives the history of the School District of Lancaster while uniting thousands of graduates in service to McCaskey High School, his Alma Mater, as well as Mr. Ewell’s.
He is a filmmaker, writer, and actor, having appeared at Lincoln Center and on “Law & Order,” among many show-business credits. With an academic focus on Communications, he attended Brooklyn College of the City University of New York and Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina.
In February of 2018, he organized Barney Ewell Week, a citywide celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Ewell’s birth. As part of the festivities, he wrote and directed “Breaking Through: The Barney Ewell Story,” a documentary recounting the innumerable barriers Ewell surmounted to become one of the country's all-time great athletes.

Bill Marshall Honored
President Jeremy and the Club honored Bill Marshall for his membership, service to the Club and the Lancaster Community by presenting him with a basketball which had the signatures of the whole F&M Athletic Department and the RCL Past Presidents.
President Jeremy acknowledged Bill’s dedication to the Club, especially with the Tip Off Tourney. The Tourney has reached it’s 40th Year with the RCL involved for the last 28 Years. It has provided over $725,000 in funds for other non-profit in the community.
2019 Crab Feast a Success – Bill Marshall Crab King!
Wally Otto reported on the 2019 Crab Feast naming Bill Marshall Crab King after the “Diplomatic Badger” downed 15 crabs. Bill was able to defeat past Champion Otto by meditating on the bus trip to the Wellwood.
33 Members, spouses & guests, including 9 RCL Presidents/Past Presidents took the bus to The Wellwood Inn for crabs, fried chicken, potato salad, shrimp, French fries and Maryland Crab soup.
The only blip of the night came when our bus driver had to back up almost a mile, because of a low railroad bridge. Apparently, this was due to poor navigation of some of the RCL members in the front of the bus that may or may not have been imbibing in certain types of beverages.
PP Wally Otto described past incursions to the Wellwood. One trip had two buses with one bus breaking-down and then nearly 80 people had to return on one bus. Wally described how much more liquor was consumed on the trips in the past, perhaps due to the fact we were younger. He also mentioned RCL member Andy Rote who lived for trips like this!
Truly a Bill Marshall Day
Bill winning the Crab Feast Challenge, the Club honoring his Rotary Service, the program about F&M and the speaker being from F&M really made for a Bill Marshall Day at Rotary! Bill shared a couple of stories during the Q&A after the speaker was finished. Again, a truly special meeting for a very special friend, Bill Marshall. We all wish him the best!

John Grove reported that the Club came through and all we need to remember is to have the bags returned by November 27th.
