“Experiences with Prison Ministry and Jurors in Capital Murder Cases”
Henry G. Covert
Henry G. Covert is a retired United Church of Christ minister. After serving in the military, he worked in law enforcement as both a patrol sergeant and county detective. Toward the end of that career he began his studies for the ministry, acquiring a doctorate from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. He has served in several parishes, worked in therapeutic communities, was a state prison chaplain, and adjunct faculty member at Penn State University. Dr. Covert was the chaplain for Pennsylvania’s first execution in thirty-three years.

2018 RCL Basketball Extravaganza
The Basketball Extravaganza Committee has been working and planning to make this year’s event the best ever. While football season is just beginning, the Committee has been soliciting Corporate and Professional Sponsorships at the $500, $1,000 and $2,500 levels.
To those of you that have made a commitment, thank you! We have $12,000 committed to date from 18 individuals and organizations. Five of which are outside the Club.
It would be helpful to assist the committee by reaching outside the Club for support. If you know a company or individual that regularly provides sponsorship or advertising to support local nonprofits, please share that information with a committee member.
If you would like to honor a loved one or a special someone, a bronze sponsorship will allow you to do that in a very public way.
The committee will be trying to close the sponsorship solicitation phase of our work by the end of August before moving on to building the Game Program and ticket sales.
The dates for this year’s extravaganza are November 16th, 17th and 18th.

McCaskey Mentoring Committee
Rich Wolman announced that the McCaskey Mentoring Committee will meet August 29th at 11:15am in the back of the room before the meeting.
