“Recovery Works, Inc.,” Dave Cope, President of Recovery Works, Inc.-Zoom Mtg
Dave Cope
Dave is a member of the Lancaster South Club. He graduated from Manheim Central H. S. and holds a B.S. degree from Bob Jones University.
Dave has been married for 48 years to my wonderful wife, Mary, and have four children and five grandchildren.
His first encounter with drug addiction was 20 years ago with their second oldest son. Thankfully, they were saved the horrors then of what so many are experiencing today. Dave and Mary’s is fully recovered from that condition now for nearly 20 years.
“The beginning of Recovery Works, Inc. was brought about by a tragedy that I experienced. I began helping drug addicts in 2015. It was in 2016 that I saw the full horrors of the drug pandemic as I saw dozens of local youth dying from drug overdoses. One, who was lost was especially close to us. In that struggle we observed how difficult it was to get help for those seeking escape from this drug induced slavery. It was then that we began the effort to bring a rehab to Lancaster County. That is the beginning of our story to form Recovery Works, Inc.”
PP Liz Martin is proposing Richard Gohn for membership.
Providing no objections are received from the membership within seven days of this publication, the proposed member will be admitted into the Rotary Club of Lancaster.
Meeting Opportunities
Since the pandemic began in March, all members have been given 100% attendance. This will change. You will no longer automatically be granted 100% attendance.
Effective September 1, 2020, attendance will be taken at Zoom meetings.
In order to maintain your attendance record, you must either attend a Zoom Meeting or Rotary Rendezvous as a make-up or provide a make-up with another Club.
You're invited to join us for Rotary Rendezvous meetings on the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays of the month.
We meet at Stoner Grille and will be enjoying an in-person fellowship meeting. Please pay careful attention as there are next steps requested. If you'd like to attend, we ask that you please RSVP by replying via email to tabaumrcol@gmail.com or by registering at the link below.
Stoner Grille is observing social distancing rules and masks are required in the building. Please remember spouses and friends are always welcomed!
From Alicia Moranz: My joy is our son and wife are moving back to the States after 8 years stationed at the Air Force base in Germany and we will become first time grandparents in March.
All Rotarians – especially committee chairs – are encouraged to help keep our new Club Calendar full and updated with the great things that our Club is doing in the community. Please submit any items you would like added to Kathy by e-mailing her atRotaryClubofLancaster@gmail.com.
