Featuring the Susquehanna Slide Express trombone quartet and their extensive repertoire of holiday music, sure to lift our spirits and prepare us for this wonderful season. Pictures and Notes from Last Week's Meeting:

Beth Trout gratefully accepted Secret Angel gifts members brought in for underprivileged children.

Joe Friel from Manos House drug & alcohol rehabilitation center in Columbia, PA, was our speaker.  He shared the extraordinary but often overlooked work Manos does in helping young males free themselves from substance disorders and learn to live productive lives.  He pointed out that Manos House originated 30 years ago in Lancaster in a row home with 38 adolescent clients.  It moved to the former Saint Anne's Convent in Columbia and now includes a resident program, a supervised independent living program, and an accredited school.  Clients are typically from 16 to 20 years of age.  Many are referred by the juvenile justice system.  Our club members were intrigued by this candid look at a part of the reality that is shrouded by the confidentiality of the juvenile justice system.

It is important and easy! Help Keep the Club Calendar Updated

All Rotarians – especially committee chairs – are encouraged to help keep our new Club Calendar full and updated with the great things that our Club is doing in the community.  Please submit any items you would like added to RCOL7390@lancasterrotary.org.  Examples include the schedule of McCaskey Mentoring Sessions, Committee Meetings, Power Packs or Salvation Army Bell Ringing. If it’s happening, let’s get it on the Calendar for all to see!  Your help will keep us all updated with what’s going on within the Club AND will showcase our very active Club to the Lancaster Community and to prospective members.  The Club Calendar is available at www.LancasterRotary.org
