Tentative Agenda includes the following: 1. Finalize Vetting Process Checklist. I will send out a document for everyone to review beforehand so we can have a short discussion, make edits and approve for future use. 2. Review Status of Approved Global Grants : We have five grants GG1875577, GG2013026, GG2098954, GG1634076 and GG2118203 that are nearing completion. I will give the latest status on these and if further action is required, I will ask/suggest/task committee members to initiate the follow up actions. 3. Club Website Additions: Our President has requested that we add content to the website regarding our international activities. Christine has volunteered to lead this subcommittee. I am sure she will need some assistance. 4. Review Status of Draft Global Grants: Currently, we have three grants GG19990577, GG2119137 and GG2126600 that I will give status on and ask the committee for input. The one that needs the most discussion and further development is the last one. This is our own Camp Hope Project. We need to get this moving and hopefully submitted by the end of October. It will take all of our efforts. 5. Other International Projects: If time allows, we can brainstorm. |

Present Day Economy in California
Oct. 01, 2021 7:30 a.m.
Fiona Ma is California’s 34th State Treasurer. She was elected on November 6, 2018 with more votes than any other candidate for treasurer in the state's history. She is the first woman of color and the first woman Certified Public Accountant (CPA) elected to the position. California is the world’s fifth-largest economy and Treasurer Ma is a proven leader as the state’s primary banker. As Treasurer, her office worked quickly to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, offering resources to small businesses and expanding access to healthcare facilities. She grew and revamped the state’s affordable housing and homeless housing programs, funded clean energy projects to create new jobs, and dramatically increased Californians’ ability to save for college, retirement, live with a disability and achieve a better quality of life. At the same time, she bolstered support for K-12 and higher education. Her office processes more than $2 trillion in payments within a typical year and provides transparency and oversight for an investment portfolio of more than $90 billion, approximately $20 billion of which are local government funds. She also is responsible for $85 billion in outstanding general obligation and lease revenue bonds of the state. |
