Our President Elect, Amany Messieha Dgheim with the first woman Rotary International President at PETS.
Larry Palant, our club's Membership and Rotary Foundation chairperson and the District Governor Elect for D7210 and Amany Messieha Dgheim, our President-Elect attended the Mid-Northeastern President-Elect Training Seminar (PETS) this week at the Hanover Marriott in Whippany, NJ. The training is informative, motivating and inspiring and where Presidents-Elect and Assistant Governors can network, shop for Rotary items and enjoy the fellowship of local Rotarians.
One of the highlights was meeting the first woman Rotary International President, Jennifer Jones from Ontario Canada.  Her inspiring keynote speech focused on the importance of taking good care of the membership with the understanding the members are the key of the success of Rotary.  Jennifer's theme is "Imagine" and she asked us to imagine the ways we Rotarians can be our very best.  She commented "the best of Rotary happens outside the bell" with community service which helps members find their passion points.  Clubs create responsible members by giving them responsibilities which hopefully with help to find that "Rotary Magic."  Members are looking to make a difference and make a lasting difference in their communities, in the world and within themselves. She asks "How can we help our members find that Rotary Magic?"
As a member of the Executive Board for District 7210, Larry was instrumental in opening remarks and introductions during the event. A highlight for the executive board was presenting a $1500.00 check to Jennifer Jones for the Ukrainian Disaster Relief Fund.
