Region 5 meeting a success
Dear members:
What a great night! Here is a message from our very own Assistant Governor, Karen FitzPatrick.
Tonight was a great meeting of sharing and pride of Rotary.
Our Vocational Award winners were real everyday examples of Service Above Self. Both show how one person can make a difference.
Alanna Smith, nominated by Wallkill East, was more special in person than on paper. We were touched by her humility and the sheer numbers of the children she has inspired. Watching fellow Rotarian Jack Strassman from our Liberty Club being honored and blindsided by Gary Siegel was both amusing and touching.
Stories such as our local Para Olympian Donna was nothing short of inspirational. It really makes you grateful for all you have. Donna is one tough lady. She makes us proud to know her. Thank you Christine Rolando for bringing her to us.
I don’t know about you but I love the roll call of clubs. You all do so much for your communities, AND you have fun doing it! You are busy! We missed you, Monticello Club.
Current presidents, please share last year’s Planning Guide for Effective Clubs with your president-elect. They need to complete and have to me by May 1.
Dates to remember:
April 21 - District Assembly Training for your team.
May 1 – Planning guide due to me
June 8 & 9 – District Conference- Come support our fellow Region 5 Rotarian Bill Bassett
as he becomes our next District Governor. We are proud !!!
July 1 – New Rotary year starts. Day 1 for new administration. District and RI dues are due.
July 8 Rotafest – Looking for volunteers to work with Region 6.
November 11 – Foundation Brunch
November ?? - Rotary Leadership Institute
Lastly It was good to see you all tonight. I am proud to be a Rotarian. WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
