April 27 meeting

At our April 27 meeting, we were pleased to welcome six members of the Rotary Club of Windham. Diana Lawrence, the president of the Windham Club, spoke about their projects. This year, they sponsored one student to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy. Some of the events they sponsor are a paper shredding event, the Mountaintop Dog Day (which will be held August 5 at CD Lane Park), and the Pole Star youth fishing and hunting program. They also support two food pantries and distribute dictionaries in the elementary school Last December, the Windham Rotary packed 21 boxes for Operation Christmas Child. Working with the VFW, they install a flag pole at the Windham Path.
During the meeting, a Rotary pin auction was held, with the income of over $200 split between the two clubs.

Before the meeting, members gathered to celebrate the spring resettlement of our "Greenville Duck," Paul Harris.  Paul is now back in his summer home outside the Mountainview Brasserie.
