Newman as our newest Honorary Rotarian at the Holiday Party.
40 Rotarians and guests gathered to celebrate the holidays at the Southeast Grille. Emcee Kevin Carroll did an outstanding job, as always! The room was filled with laughter and conversation, and everyone enjoyed a delicious meal. The highlight of the evening was when President Stefanie Hubert and past President Sal Gambino inducted a surprised Joan Newman as an honorary Carmel Rotarian. Joan has generously made quilts for many years, which are raffled off to benefit various projects. This year, the funds raised will go to A Bed of My Own, totaling over $700! The lucky winner of the quilt was Stefanie!
Right on cue, Santa made a surprise appearance and led us in singing Christmas carols before presenting Stefanie with a check for $7,500 from the Putnam County National Bank. Executive Vice President Chris Ryder once again successfully applied for and was awarded a $100,000 grant to distribute to county nonprofits. Many thanks to Wayne and Chris for their continued support of the Carmel Rotary.

Kevin also shared some film trivia members had texted to him in anticipation of our holiday movie trivia game. Although the game proved challenging, the winning table correctly answered 10 out of the 15 questions.
The evening concluded with Bill Huestis guessing the number of Kisses in the jar, which raised an additional $65.
