Peoria North Rotary Club teamed up with members of the Rotary Club of Glendale on April 17 to help spruce up a community garden located at Bethany Home Road and 67th Avenue in Glendale. The community garden is owned by Heart for the City and allows local families in the area to grow and harvest their own fruits and vegetables.

The service project was the club's first in-person service project in over a year and was part of the district's first-ever Rotary Week of Service. Rotary clubs throughout Arizona are planning a number of service projects throughout the week, ending with a school supply/backpack-stuffing event 1-5 p.m. April 25 at American Furniture Warehouse.

In addition to cleaning up the garden plots, club members built a wheelchair-accessible raised garden bed and painted Peace Rocks to place throughout the garden.
