February is shaping up to be a very busy – and interesting – month for members of Peoria North Rotary Club members. The list of upcoming events include our winter wine classic, a celebration of young students in Peoria and some very interesting guest speakers.

  • The month kicks off Feb. 7 with a joint meeting with Glendale West Rotary to hear a talk by the founder of Crutches 4 Africa. David Talbot will speak at the meeting to be held 6 p.m. at Huntington University, 8385 W. Mariners Way in Peoria. Cost is $10, but RSVPs are required by signing up online at https://portal.clubrunner.ca/4780/Event/club-meeting-1. Be sure to sign up as a guest.

  • On Feb. 14, our club moves to Spirit of Hope United Methodist Church to hear about the 2018 RYLA camp. Always a great program, we’ll get to meet the RYLA students sponsored by our club. The church is located at 14403 N. 75th Ave.

  • Feb. 17 is the date of the next Peoria North Wine Classic. The theme is Italian (“That’s Amore”) and the event features a four-course meal accompanied by wines served by the Francis Ford Coppola Winery. Tickets are $108 and can be purchased at azbroadway.org. The event begins at 6 p.m. at Arizona Broadway Theatre, 7701 W. Paradise Lane.

  • On Feb. 21, our weekly meeting returns to Arizona Broadway Theater for “Bring a Friend Night” and a talk by acclaimed author Marty Brounstein. Marty is the author of the best-selling book, “Two Among the Righteous Few: A Story of Courage in the Holocaust.” Members are encouraged to bring a prospective member to this meeting (be sure to include that guest in your RSVP to Cheryl).

  • On Feb. 28 we recognize our latest “Students of the Month.”

It’s a great month to be a Rotarian and a member of Peoria North!
