Co-Executive Director, Denver Indian Center

Rick is a member of the Kiowa and Cherokee tribes of Oklahoma.  Prior to joining the Denver Indian Center, Inc, Rick has worked in Indian Country for over 40 years including positions as the National Director of Tribal Relations with the University of Phoenix, Sr. Director with the American Indian College Fund, Assistant Director of Admissions at the University of Colorado-Boulder, and American Indian Home-School Liaison with the Dallas Independent School District.  Rick has been married to Deana Harragarra Waters (Kiowa/Otoe) for 37 years and has two daughters, Regina and Kelly with one grandson, Benjamin. He enjoys having the opportunity to serve the American Indian community by encouraging self-empowerment.
