DSE  SPONSORSHIP OF OPERATION WARMHEART

Operation Warmheart is a 501C3 non-profit operated by the Mile High First Sergeants Council of Buckley AFB.  Its mission is to distribute charitable funds to enlisted members and the families of deployed personnel who experience an emergency which requires an immediate response. First Sergeants have the authority to make a non interest bearing loan on a handshake up to $400.  In situations requiring greater assistance, the council can approve a direct grant. The council is a private, non-government, organization serving all branches of service. The service that WarmHeart provides has a major impact on the morale and welfare of Team Buckley and thereby enhances mission readiness. Enlisted personnel are confident that their First Sergeants can be relied upon when they experience an emergency situation.  There has never been a default on a loan. Follow on actions are referred by the council to base support activities and appropriate government agencies. The number of assigned military personnel exceeds 3,000. At our July 13th meeting, a sponsorship check will be presented to MSgt Robert Hotzfeld, President of the COUNCIL and First Sergeant of the 460th Mission Support Group.
